My name is  Kennedy and I am an 13 year old girl with Autism, Chiari Malformation Type 1, and Syringomyelia.  I had my second brain surgery for my Chiari a few years ago. Things didn't go very well. I wound up on vent support with bilaterally paralyzed vocal cords.

Life was rough. I spent weeks on life support and as my body started failing under the pressure, my mom decided that a tracheotomy tube was my only chance at semi-normal life. Doctors told her without it, I would never breathe on my own again.

After receiving my trach tube, I started to progress and eventually my vocal cords started to move! I was decannulated and am now still in rehab and therapy. I am working hard... everyday in every way.

I am now a Children's Miracle Network child and a Make-A-Wish kid :) and I believe that I am capable of anything. I care about kids and I know what they go through. I just want to share my story and share my prayer that all kids who need miracles receive them.
