This has been one long Summer. It feels great not having any scheduled surgeries or scans. I do have to re start physical therapy though. UGH I am so bummed about it.
I have vestibular vertigo which makes me feel like the entire world is spinning 1000 times. So this is supposed to help. I hope my neurologist is right.
Well, I did spend the Summer thinking about school---or should I say my mom did. She worked so hard with new schools and making sure we found the best placement for me and we did!!!!!
I am NOT going back to my old school! I went there for 5 years if you count last year when I barely was there at all. Lol. Cyber school is such a great fit for me. I am so so so excited. I've met some new people already and am looking forward to still attending some of the fun stuff at my old school.
I will miss the few friends I have and definitely the teachers who have been so nice to me, but this is all for the best. I actually think that my mom is more excited than I am.
Now I don't have to be the sick kid in the class. Or the kid who is late (from doc appts) etc. I get a fresh new start!
Yay!!!!!!!!! BUT...it seems so much harder than regular school Lots more work. Lots more. But hey I'm 10 now I can do it!
Almost every girl likes beauty queens. I love em! I met Miss Pennsylvania before, MIss JUniata Valley, and Miss Teen Pennsylvania before. They were so sweet and we tried on crowns and everything.
This was like that but crazy better! Miss America (Nina as she told me to call her), taught me how to do Bollywood dance and she was so kind and supportive. She told me to never give up on my dreams because they can always come true.
This event was so fantastic and even though mom and I ware jet lagged after coming from Hawaii and the event was like 6 hours long, I got to take a break in a private room and guess who was in there taking a break too? MISS AMERICA!!
Then we danced for a bit after I received my medal!
I am so happy that I had this experience. I feel very lucky and am so grateful. I will never forget this day for the rest of my life. :)
Hey! I am a 10 year old girl living with Autism, chiari Malformation Type 1, Syringomyelia. I love to draw, paint, take photos, make crafts, and hang out with my mom. Life gets tough sometimes, but mainly I'm just a rocking girl like anyone else!
